Social Media Specialist (Part-Time)

Impressions Marketing and Events seeks a part-time Social Media Specialist to help create and execute a strategy for excellent social media experiences across all social channels. If you love social media, being creative and ensuring the best customer experience, this may be the position for you.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating monthly social media marketing campaigns to promote content, engage audiences and highlight themes in creative ways;

  • Researching, writing and editing daily social media posts for multiple platforms;

  • Collaborating with team members to create a social calendar and content that supports an integrated marketing approach for our clients;

  • Writing blogs and long form content for clients, as needed;

  • Engaging with others on client social media accounts, as well as spearheading outreach to influencers, accounts and individuals who match the client demographic/psychographic profile;

  • Monitoring the performance of social channels and propose ways to increase client return on investment;

  • Providing reports for both internal and external (client) consumption;

  • Other items as needed. The person filling this position should be willing to jump in and help where needed.

  • Be an excellent communicator. Our business is defined by communicating verbally and through writing. You must be confident in your communication skills to apply!

  • Provide exceptional customer service. Our client relationships are important, and maintaining excellent service, that goes above and beyond expectations, is a must!

  • Have experience managing social media accounts for business.

  • Be skilled in creating, editing, and promoting written and visual content.

  • Have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at once. This position will serve as the point person or support person for multiple social media accounts.

  • Be dependable. We are counting on you to complete the work on your plate.

  • Thrive when working both independently and as part of a team.

    • Work Independently: Most of the work completed for this position will be done remotely. You must be a self-starter, who is able to complete tasks without reminders, and without someone encouraging you to get to work.

    • Work as a Team: Though small, our team is mighty. We accomplish a lot of work, and the input of all team members is needed. Building positive team relationships is important, as our internal relationships are reflected to our clients.

  • Enjoy learning. Our industry changes, and we must adapt and change with it.


Additional Details:

  • This is a part-time, contract position. Successful candidates will have the opportunity for position growth.

  • Pay will be either hourly or by project, to be decided on in conjunction with the selected candidate.

  • The person accepting this position must be local to the Georgetown/Lexington area.

  • The person accepting this position must be willing and able to meet in-person with team members in Georgetown at least once per week. The remainder of the work will be completed remotely.

  • The person accepting this position must be willing to visit clients for photo and video opportunities to support social needs. This may include some evening and/or weekend work to support client events.

  • The nature of this position requires consistency in work schedule, with the bulk of the work being completed during the standard work day. Scheduling will be further discussed with potential candidates.

  • The person filling this position should have access to and ability to use:

    • A personal computer with Internet access;

    • Microsoft products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint);

    • Google Drive;

    • Dropbox.

  • Additional skills preferred:

    • Graphic design skills and/or use of canva for social media design needs;

    • Photography skills for social media;

    • Videography skills for social media (filming and editing- a MAJOR PLUS!).

  • A college degree is required; prior experience managing social media for businesses is required.
