Event & Marketing Project Manager
(3-Month Contract with Opportunity for Extension )
Impressions Marketing and Events seeks a contract Event & Marketing Project Manager to perform a variety of event, marketing and customer service tasks. If you love creating a flawless event experience, organizing projects to ensure successful completion and managing all of the details, this may be the position for you. We need an action-oriented person to join our team who is ready to jump in and get to work with little oversight.

Please Note: applicants must be based in Central Kentucky, as our event opportunities are in this area. Most work is completed remotely, but some client meetings and all events will require onsite participation. Out-of-area applicants will not be considered. Additionally, this is a 3-month contract (May, June, July), though there is a great possibility of an extension for the right candidate.
Responsibilities include:

Supporting the forward movement of event and marketing projects, including support with:

Organizing event and marketing projects;
-
Taking action steps to move event and marketing projects forward (writing, editing, seeking additional information from the client, etc);

Working with supporting team members, as needed;
-
Ensuring the client is pleased with the resulting work.

Managing events, with tasks including:
-
Pre-event planning such as vendor procurement and negotiation, budgeting, creating planning timelines, meeting with clients;

Onsite event management: boots-on-the-ground management of the event, team members and volunteers to create a well-produced event;
-
Event follow-up including invoice management, sponsorship deliverable fulfillment, post-event meeting management.

NOTE: Evening and weekend availability is required.

Managing website projects, with tasks including:

Meeting with client to discuss needs;
-
Creating a site map;
-
Managing procurement of needed content, including text and images;
-
Working with support team members to move the project forward;

Managing site deployment and client training, if desired;
-
Auditing current websites and/or draft websites for flow and superior user experience;
-
NOTE: While other marketing projects will be part of this role, there is an urgent and immediate need for website project support.

Creating reports to showcase work completed and goals achieved for clients to prove a positive return on investment.

Answering and returning phone calls and emails to address:

Client requests;
-
Event vendor confirmations;
-
Vendor pricing and availability requests;

Other requests, as needed.

Other items as needed. The person filling this position should be willing to jump in and help where needed.

Work Independently: Most of the work completed for this position will be done remotely. You must be a self-starter, who is able to complete tasks without reminders, and without someone encouraging you to get to work. Our team members have full plates. This role is intended to help fully support existing and potential future projects, and reduce the workload of our existing team.

Work as a Team: Though small, our team is mighty. We accomplish a lot of work, and the input of all team members is needed. Building positive team relationships is important, as our internal relationships are reflected to our clients.

The ability to work evenings and weekends is required in order to accommodate event needs.

The intention for time breakdown is currently as follows, though may adjust depending on available work:

Event management: 50%
-
Marketing project management: 40%
-
Other work: 10%

This is currently a 3-month contract position, with the potential to move to an extended contract position for the right fit. Initially, the position will be approximately 20-30 hours per week, with the opportunity for growth in hours and responsibilities as mutually agreed upon.

This position starts at $30 per hour, with opportunities for growth depending upon fit and experience level.

The person accepting this position must be local to the Georgetown/Lexington area.

The person accepting this position must be willing and able to meet in-person with team members in Georgetown and Lexington, as needed. We also have clients in other Kentucky locations within driving distance. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

The nature of this position requires consistency in work schedule, with the bulk of the work being completed during the standard work day. Scheduling will be further discussed with potential candidates.

Event or marketing experience is required! A college degree is preferred, but candidates with marketing experience will be considered, regardless of degree status.

3 years of event planning experience preferred.
