Marketing Assistant (Part-Time)

Impressions Marketing and Events seeks a part-time Marketing Assistant to perform a variety of marketing, administrative, customer service, and event tasks. If you love social media, writing, organization, details and ensuring the best customer experience, this may be the position for you. We need an action-oriented person to join our team who is ready to jump in and get to work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating monthly social media marketing campaigns to promote content, engage audiences and highlight themes in creative ways. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Researching, writing and editing daily social media posts for multiple platforms;

    • Collaborating with team members to create a social calendar and content that supports an integrated marketing approach for our clients;

    • Writing blogs and long form content for clients, as needed;

    • Engaging with others on client social media accounts, as well as spearheading outreach to influencers, accounts and individuals who match the client demographic/psychographic profile;

    • Monitoring the performance of social channels and propose ways to increase client return on investment;

    • Providing reports for both internal and external (client) consumption;

  • Supporting the forward movement of marketing and event projects, including support with:

    • Organizing projects;

    • Writing content; 

    • Editing;

    • Ensuring the client is pleased with the resulting work.

  • Answering and returning phone calls and emails to address: 

    • Client requests;

    • Event vendor confirmations;

    • Vendor pricing and availability requests;

    • Other requests, as needed.

  • Monitoring deliverables for event and client sponsorships to ensure all areas are covered and executed exceptionally;

  • Assisting in the creation and maintenance of a client appreciation program; 

  • Editing marketing materials for online and print purposes;

  • Content support for social media, online, print and other mediums as needed;

  • Developing and maintaining an online filing system for files and paperwork;

  • Ordering office supplies and project-based items as needed;

  • Onsite event work at planned dates throughout the year;

  • Maintaining meeting calendars;

  • Scheduling meetings and events;

  • Other items as needed. The person filling this position should be willing to jump in and help where needed. 


 

The perfect person for this position must...

  • Have experience managing social media accounts for business.

  • Be skilled in creating, editing, and promoting written and visual content.

  • Be a self-starter. Our team is small, but achieves a lot for our clients. You must be willing and able to jump in and keep projects moving forward with little direction. If you need reminders to get work done, this position is not for you. 

  • Be an excellent communicator. Our business is defined by communicating verbally and through writing. You must be confident in your communication skills to apply!

  • Provide exceptional customer service. Our client relationships are important, and maintaining excellent service, that goes above and beyond expectations, is a must!

  • Be dependable. We are counting on you to complete the tasks needed, and to take initiative to ensure a project well-done.

  • Love details. No detail is too small. Our team will depend on you to capture the details that help make our well-oiled machine continue to run like a champ.

  • Thrive when working both independently and as part of a team. 

    • Work Independently: Most of the work completed for this position will be done remotely. You must be a self-starter, who is able to complete tasks without reminders, and without someone encouraging you to get to work. 

    • Work as a Team: Though small, our team is mighty. We accomplish a lot of work, and the input of all team members is needed. Building positive team relationships is important, as our internal relationships are reflected to our clients. 

  • Enjoy learning. Our industry changes, and we must adapt and change with it. If the idea of learning new technology, tools and techniques makes you break into a sweat… this is not the position for you.

 

Additional Details:

  • This is a part-time, contract position. Initially, the position will be approximately 12 hours per week, with the opportunity for growth in hours and responsibilities if mutually agreed upon.

  • This position starts at $13 per hour, with opportunities for growth depending upon fit and experience level.

  • The person accepting this position must be local to the Georgetown/Lexington area. 

  • The person accepting this position must be willing and able to meet in-person with team members in Georgetown one to two times per week (timing pending based on COVID-19 recommendations; Zoom meetings will replace in-person meetings when needed). The remainder of the work will be completed remotely.

  • The nature of this position requires consistency in work schedule, with the bulk of the work being completed during the standard work day. Scheduling will be further discussed with potential candidates. 

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends occasionally to complete time-sensitive work may be required.

  • The person filling this position should have access to and ability to use:

    • A personal computer with Internet access;

    • A printer would be helpful, but not required (printing can be completed during the mentioned weekly meeting times if needed);

    • A scanner would be helpful, but not required;

    • Microsoft products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint);

    • Google Drive;

    • Dropbox. 

    • Social media- Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

  • Additional skills preferred:

    • Graphic design skills and/or use of canva for social media design needs (we have an exceptional designer on the team, but may need to supplement images based on project load);

    • Photography skills for social media;

    • Videography skills for social media (filming and editing- a MAJOR PLUS!).

  • Marketing experience is required! A college degree is preferred, but candidates with marketing experience will be considered, regardless of degree status.
